Rep. Rouda Leads Orange County Congressional Delegation Request for Consideration of Property Tax Delay and Clarity for Residents and Businesses
Laguna Beach, CA – This morning, Representative Harley Rouda (CA-48), along with Reps. Cisneros (CA-39), Correa (CA-46), Levin (CA-49), Lowenthal (CA-47), Porter (CA-45), and Sánchez (CA-38), sent a letter to the Orange County Board of Supervisors requesting a delay of Orange County property and delinquent taxes. The Representatives also expressed concerns regarding reports of confusion about the County’s recent public health orders.
“Orange County small businesses are shuttering, workers about being laid off, and families are wondering how they will put food on the table,” said Rouda. “The Orange County Board of Supervisors should consider doing everything in their power to help struggling Orange County families, including delaying April's property tax and delinquency tax deadlines.”
“Protecting Orange County residents requires a close partnership with County officials to ensure federal assistance is delivered efficiently, effectively, and without delay,” the Representatives wrote.
“Strong leadership and clear communication from the County will help ensure that federal resources compliment state and local programs meant to promote the health and safety of every Orange County resident. We look forward to working with the Board of Supervisors to find a solution that protects Orange County residents and businesses in the process of restoring everything that makes our County great.”
