Washington, D.C. – Rep. Harley Rouda (CA-48) today announced the introduction of H.R. 1929, a bill to permanently extend the fuel cell motor vehicle tax credit.
Said Rouda, “For every $80 in tax incentives for fossil fuels, the federal government offers only $1 for renewable energies. We cannot combat climate change if markets work against us, and the first step to solving that problem is fixing tax policies that incentivize carbon pollution. That’s why I’ve introduced legislation to permanently extend the fuel cell vehicle tax credit.”
The tax credit lapsed after Congress failed to extend it by December 31, 2017. The bill would also retroactively extend the tax credit to consumers who purchased fuel cell vehicles after the provision expired.
